"Transforming Public Education: Pathway to a Pre-K-12 Future"

In anticipation of the completion of Pew’s 10-year Pre-K Now campaign, we have released a report that lays out a strategy to transform public education by moving from our current K-12 model to a more effective, evidence-based Pre-K-12 system, based upon the vital learning that happens in children’s earliest years. This Pre-K-12 vision is grounded in rigorous research and reflects work by leading scholars and institutions to identify the knowledge and skills students need to succeed in school and the teaching practices that best develop them.

To ensure that all children fulfill their potential as individuals and citizens, we must re-imagine public education as a system that begins with quality pre-k, and builds on that foundation to raise performance in later grades.
